Hillwalking badge – please let your leaders know if you would like to do a hillwalking badge.

Adventurous Activities

Scouts will be involved in more adventurous activities as they get older. Before any activity the leaders will carefully assess the risks involved and take precautions as appropriate. If the activity is in the dark then additional precautions will be taken including checking the area out in advance. If the activity is particularly adventurous then appropriately trained leaders or staff will be utilised. For example, our leaders are experienced in the hills and some are trained to a high standard; water activities would normally be lead by qualified instructors. If any parent has any concerns about a proposed activity then you should email the duty leader involved or give them a call rather than worrying about it to help understand the precautions that have been taken.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
